| Local Government Champion Senator Dave Cox Passes |

 Last Tuesday, Republican Senator Dave Cox passed away after a 13-year battle with cancer. The former Assembly Republican leader spent more than two decades in public service representing the Sacramento region, including time on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. He was 72.
Senator Cox most recently served as chair of the Senate Local Government Committee and this year authored CSDA supported legislation aimed at continuing and expanding the authorization of design-build for public agencies, including some special districts. CSDA wishes to express our deepest condolences to the family of Senator Cox. He will be missed but his tireless work, commitment to his constituents and sense of humor will be forever remembered.
