CSDA has an Exciting New Webinar Coming Soon! PDF Print E-mail

In response to the many requests for more Electronic Document Management workshops, CSDA has partnered with Hedy Aref of Incrementum to produce a convenient, time-saving and cost-efficient webinar tailored for special districts.

The webinar, Gateway to Digital Document Management is scheduled for August 25, 2010 from 10:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Many special districts are taking measures to cut down on their paper consumption and distribute information more effectively.  They are making an effort to scan hard copy documents onto their network drives.  They are initiating documents electronically and maintaining them on shared drives for modification and retrieval purposes.  If you are such an organization, congratulations!  You are gradually transitioning to a digital environment!
While this eliminates some of the paper usage and improves distribution of information, it does not address the following considerations in document and records management:
  • Content searchability and immediate access across all documents.
  • Legality of format and media the digital documents are in.
  • Management of records retention schedules.
  • Transparency of information for auditing purposes.
  • Collaboration and versioning for documents that are being prepared and modified by more than one individual.
  • Routing and approval of documents that are tied to a financial transaction/process.
